General Introduction
--------------------
The source code has not been included, but we can always give it to you if you
really want it. By the way, this little PPE is in no way cripled or delayed by
some stupid registration warning. That's real lame. What kind of a dork places
registrations on a PPE that took only an hour to make....
The original idea came from a NUP PPE... But not all boards want to use a NUP.
Some of you might just want to test a new users knowledge of the scene before
they get axx on the system. If they don't know the correct answer, they'll
habe to find it... But they will not have to search the onliners of other
boards to find the accessing answer. They just have to know a thing or two about
a random subject you pick out yourself.
The included example asks the new user a question about the demo scene, but
you can change the subject to whatever you want.
Installation
------------
This is very simple. In your PCBTEXT, line 54 you will find the lame text
"Would you like to register with us, @FIRST@? (Enter)=yes"
Well, open the PCBTEXT with the usual MKPCBTXT command and replace this line
with this great PPE.
Example: !C:\PCB\PPE\PHUN_ALT\PHUN_ALT.PPE
This is just an example. You can put it in any directory on your system, but
we prefer a seperate directory to keep things tidy. Copy all of the files
included in this ZIP into that directory.
The ANSI's
----------
There are 2 PCB - ANSI screens included, PHUN_ALT.PCB and GREET.PCB. These are
the displays that your new users get to read when they try to login.
PHUN_ALT.PCB is the screen containing the question or test you want to
present your new users. Just create it with PCBEDIT (c) or THEDRAW (c), or any
other editor...
GREET.PCB is the screen that welcomes your new users when they give the
correct answer to the Anti-Lamer-Test.
You can change the screens in any way you want, but the files must always
have the original name we gave it. Do not put a @WAIT@-string at the bottom of
the screens. The PPE already does that for you :-)
The Configuration
-----------------
The file PHUN_ALT.CFG must contain 2 lines:
line 1 : the answer to the Anti-Lamer-Test (can be up to 40 characters).
line 2 : the level the new user gets when passing the test.
Anyway, we enjoyed making it. So why don't you just give it a shot... :-)
Hang loose, bro's....
----
Note: "Don't forget the greets", they tell me....
OK, so here they come...
----
To the following dudes I say this:
The PHUN crew in Belgium: next time we have a meeting, I don't wanna drink
the whole bottle myself...
Dinv: shit man, why'd you have to stop...
B0b0: Do you shave yet?
Ynos: keep the MOD collection growing, pal...
Lord Cyrix: Wanna buy a modem? :-)
The Undertaker: Amiga ? Can you shave your head with that?
The PHuN guys in the States: Washington Vlaams !
Killroy: Long time no see, pal...
The TRAXX crew: Let's Pump Some Noise
